The UK government is considering imposing an additional duty of £2.20 per 10ml on vaping products. This means an extra £22 per 100ml, significantly increasing the cost for vapers. Such a steep hike could deter many from choosing vaping as a smoking cessation method, potentially leading them back to traditional cigarettes.

A petition titled "Don't put an extra duty on vape products" has been created to oppose this proposed tax. The petition argues that vaping, a popular tool for quitting smoking, is already subject to 20% VAT. Adding this additional duty would make vaping less accessible and more expensive, without addressing the root issue of underage sales.
